Synopsis

Athens, Greece. A heatwave.
Stephanos is working out listening to rap, while his mother is planning a day out. After another fight between them, he is left alone to take care of his two younger siblings and Lucy, their family dog. Lucy is sick.
Summery laziness among pizza boxes, adolescent flirt and a phone that stays unanswered. What will dramatically change their day is Lucy’s death. Yet, more changes are in store for the three siblings and they will be revealed to them when Stephanos picks up the phone. It was the last care-free day of their lives.

Director's Note

In 2013, I went to the first funeral of my life. I said goodbye to the most significant figure of my childhood- and not only- years.
Witnessing live the very fact of death and then attending the ceremony, were two absolutely new experiences, and I found myself floating in between, in utter uneasiness. Was that person dying before my eyes, my person? Was that person in the coffin, my person? Was it the same person?
In a very similarly uneasy way, Fox was born to discuss this awkward point in time which lies between sensing, in total abstraction, that something is wrong and then verifying your sense by knowing.
How do the kids feel when they bury Lucy? How different will it be from burying their mom?
